Yay, as of 8:00pm Friday my car is alive again!!!

Don's turbo head is in. From what I can visually tell, it was ported and polished and oversize intake and exhaust valves were installed. I don't know if the valve springs are factory replacements or were upgraded.

What a bitch of a job to get it all done. I basically did all my previous maintenance and engine mod work all at once. It took 2 long days to tear it all apart and put it all back together again. I even ended up with a shit ton of extra bolts Laughing But that was only because I now possess 3 miata heads.

I also managed to find the time to add a reed switch for my speedo so I can datalog it and wired in the remote switch for internal datalogging on my EMU. Now I just need to wire in my vtps and retune my engine management for the new head and teach my car the 2 step! Launch control baby! Twisted Evil I'm gonna squeeze every little doodad out of this piggyback.

Anybody need some odds and ends off the head before I scrap it?

Steve your what they call a true DIY'er,good job.

Don't throw the head in the trash, sell it to the recyclers for the aluminum value.

Just took the car for it's first drive. Mmmmmm it's like popping a cherry. That drive was so satisfying.

The head work didn't like my 15deg timing in vacuum. I changed it to 12deg and left the rest of the tune the same, the car just purrs at idle now and pulls real smooth. I'm detuned to 8psi with real conservative timing for now while I break in the new head. Did one rip from 0-140. There is definitely some hp that can be extracted with some tuning. But for now it's 4500rpm shifts.
