Well the car has been running like shit lately.

Compression numbers are:

185
100
185
185

I've got a bad valve.

Trying to weigh my options here. Who's got what?

Car is a short nose (don't know if it makes a difference on the top end)

Ya....

That option is #4 on my list....but then I have to get the conversion kit and a 1.8 turbo manifold.

That's closely followed by #5, get rid of my turbo, 1.8 Torsen, and engine management for another type of swap. Wink

Thanks to those that have offered. I've traded some of my old parts for a used head. Dropped it off at Magnem's today to get checked out and a refresh!

I cant remember if it was a 1.6L or 1.8L but if its too costly or too much to get your head fixed talk to Don @ PDM I believe he still has a fully built turbo head sitting on his shelf.

Neil, I went straight to the in-laws after. Not only do I have my car to fix, I've got to redo the in-laws patio too Mad

Lucas, good to know, I may have to give Don a ring . Pretty sure it is a 1.6 head, his red car was a 1.6

I'm pretty sure the machine work will be fairly cheap. I'm getting it all done at wholesale. The owner's kid works at my company. Very Happy

I need to build a simple gate for the fence,I refuse to do it until it cools down.

yep don still has his unused 1.6l turbo head

I think last time i checked he was asking around 1500 to 1000

don't quote me on it. this was from earlier this year. around jan.

He tries to tempt me into buying it everytime i go visit him Razz

Sounds about right, he told me about it sometime last year but plans for FI were scrapped I knew he sold his car but didnt know if this was still kicking around. Its a shame cause the guy that bought his miata ripped the diff out of it after improperly slamming it.

Not getting the head rebuilt. $650 with wholesale costs and discounts + HST on top. Shocked

Don's turbo head is going in! $900 cash. Razz
